The Simple Lie - A Media and Government Avoidance of Truth

When is a lie considered a lie? The most basic form of lie is when someone tells a story that did not happen and decides to convince the other person or people that it IS true. Or vice versa, the lier convincing a person that something did happen when it did not. These are basic lies. 

But there are so many other lies that can be told, or not told. Omission of something happening is a lie. If someone went to the store and bought a new T.V. and spent too much money and did not tell their spouse, that did not want a new t.v., that would be a lie. They are not telling the truth. But, if that same person bought a T.V and lived alone, where no one cared if he or she bought the T.V.  There is no lie. Because that person had no one to lie to. 

So when does it become a lie? When something is happening in life that might effect you or the world around you, but facts are omitted.

So we know that people lie. But is it fine for major corporations, news outlets, government, businesses, people in office to lie? And these lies are not the simple kind. When a news outlet decides not to release and show events that are happening in the world, because it goes against what they want their audience to see,that is a lie that some people do not seem to notice. For example, the current administration has spent almost $640.9 million on non citizen migrants this year in 2024, this was spent on people that may or may not have illegally come into the United States. But the government was not able to give even close to this amount for our fellow United States citizens for a natural disaster that occurred to them. And major left leaning news outlets will not report this information. Would this be considered a lie? So the question is, if the government is doing something that is deemed immoral or against the good of the country, or something that is questionable, should that be reported in the news? Is not reporting the facts to make a person or administration look good, a lie?

Most people with common sense would say, yes this is a lie. But some people are so into the lies that are shown in the media, that they do not see that they are being lied to, or maybe they refuse to see that they are being lied to? Let's hope that this will somehow change. Because right now, so many people in this country and world are being lied to, and have no idea, because they are not getting all the facts. 

For the ones that turn their head the other way, when truth is being spread, stop. See it for what it is. There are so many easy ways to find the truth about what is going on in this country and world, find it. These facts that were stated in this article are truths.
