University of Michigan Fires Administrator Over Controversial Comments
(jpost.com) The University of Michigan has made headlines following the dismissal of Rachel Dawson, the former director of the Office of Academic Multicultural Initiatives.
This decision came after alleged comments attributed to Dawson surfaced, suggesting that Jewish students should not benefit from the university's diversity programs due to the perception that they are "wealthy and privileged."

These comments prompted a complaint from the Anti-Defamation League of Michigan.
Initially, the University of Michigan declined to take action against Dawson. However, after increased pressure from a member of the Board of Regents, the university decided to terminate her position. Following this, additional information arose, indicating that her behavior at both the conference and an unspecified protest contributed to her firing.
The response from the university has been minimal, leading to speculation about the decision-making process behind Dawson's termination. While concerns about antisemitism have been raised, the university's single press statement pointed to a broader context, mentioning misbehavior without detailing specific incidents.
